The content of Yunnan Baiyao Capsules are powder of yellow to light brownish yellow color,with special fragrance,somewhat fresh taste and numb feeling to tongue.The Insurance pills are red watered pills,of ball-shaped or similar ball-shaped,of which the cross section face are colored on brown of dark brown,with slight odor and bitter taste.

Function and Indication:

Eliminating blood stasis and hemostatic,promoting blood flow and analgesic,detoxifying and promoting subsidence of swelling.It is ued for treatment of traumatic injury,stagnated blood swelling and pain,spitting blood,hemoptysis, hemotochezia,hemorrhoidal bleeding, metrorrhagia and metrostaxia, suppurative and pyogenic infections and soft tissue bruise,closed fracture,brochiectasis and hemoptysis of plumonary tuberculosis, ulcerative bleeding and infective diseases on skin.

Administration and Dosage :

As to wounds by knife,bullet or traumatic injury,no mater how severe they have been, the capsules are administered with warm boiled water by the bleeding wounded suffer from stagnated blood,swelling and pain and no bleeding wounded take the capsules with wine; For patients suffer from disease of gynecopathy take capsules with wine, but for those suffer from menorrhagia,metrorrhagia take capsules with warm boiled water. For initial stage of venenous sore,paitent administer a dosage of 0.25 and take another portion of medicine powder to mix homogeneously with wine which is used to apply on infectious part; for suppurative sore, oral administration is needed only. For slight injury and other internal hemorrhage symptom,capsules can be administered orally.

Oral administration:

1-2 capsules each time,4 times daily(for children: 2 to 5 years old take 1/4of dosage;6 to 12 years old take 1/2 of dosage). For severe traumatic injury, a pill of insurance pill can be administered at first, as to slight injury no insurance pill will be needed.

Adverse reaction:

Very occasionally reported are hypersensitive rash, tightness in the chest, palpitation, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, general intense itching, and urticaria in the trunk and limbs.

Contraindication: It is contraindicated in pregnant women,also in allergic diathesis.

Precautions:

1.Avoid broad bean, fish, and sour, cold food within one day after administration.

2.Be sure to clean the wound surface before external use.

3.Be sure to use the drug under the doctor’s supervision and control when high dosage is needed clinically.

4.If hypersensitive reaction occurs after administration,quit the drug at once and give antihypersenstitive therapy depending on the severity of symptoms and in the case of external use,first clear away the drug.

5.Use it with caution if you are athlete.
